Type Rating Course
Skywest Aviation is an IAA Authorized Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO) which allows us to train pilots as required for type ratings on the R22 and R44 helicopter.
Type ratings on the Robinson R22 and Robinson 44 are a minimum of 5 hours depending on your current licences. Ground school is also included within the rating and a ground exam must be undertaken and passed before you undertake your Licence Skills Test (LST) with an IAA examiner. Please note that the IAA also require that you have a current SFAR 73 sign off before your LST (please see SFAR 73 page for more information).
